Freelance 3D Design/Animation
Sept. 2008- Nov. 2008 Ladriere, Bloomfield hills, MI
•8 week project to create a realistic 3D city environment from images and photography which will then be used as an environment to place a car in for a major automotive company.
° A layout of the city was given to me on paper and where the main focus was and what specific buildings that needed to be in the shot. Then modeled, textured, rendered, animated camera, and composited the shots.
3D Design/Animation
2003-2008 Graphic Promotions Inc., Berkley, MI
•Created realistic 3D images from photography or existing geometry.
° Vehicle polygon data was supplied to us for the purpose of rendering the interior for use on the web or print.
° Cleaned up and optimized the polygons to provide an acceptable image.
° Modeled and textured the soft parts of the interior including the seats or shifter boot.
° Retouched occasional blemishes with Photoshop.
•Concept animation, ranging from boats to buildings to characters.
° On the architecture side we would be supplied Sketchup models, I was responsible for converting it to something Maya could use like an OBJ file.
° Often model and texture the landscape based on elevation data, also picked up any other modeling or texturing that would be needed. (buildings, tables, chairs, etc.)
° A medically accurate human model was supplied for the Dr. Spectrum animation. Rigged the character for animation, adjusted UV’s for texturing, used blend shapes to animate the face and sync with the pre-recorded voice and also animated the character for the section I was assigned.
° An animation would result in many layers of video and After Effects was used to composite the final animation.
•Projects were team oriented with occasional tight deadlines.
° Some times deadlines were almost unreasonable and in some cases brought in our personal computers from home to improve render time and finish the job.
•Maintained workstations and server computer.
° If you had a problem on your Mac or PC I was the guy to see.
° Run the backups and archive old projects on the server.
•Tested ADS Software before a release.
° ADS is JAVA based software app that creates custom warranty flyer’s for auto dealer customers.
° Found bugs, and offered ideas to improve the product usability.
